Christchurch Search Marketing Social - August 2025 Recap
Two hours at Craft Embassy went by in a steady hum of ideas. No slides or formalities, just a packed table of search marketers comparing how AI is reshaping the workday.
The conversation ranged from Python experiments and workflow automation to using AI to “vibe” code and the inevitable debugging that follows. GPT-4 vs GPT-5 made for frank comparisons; so did the habit of verifying AI outputs with a quick Google check. We touched on AI-generated music (with a chart-topper likely on the horizon) and animation as a lifeline for creators on tight budgets. The copyright debate was spirited - views spanned from stronger protection to questioning whether it belongs in the conversation at all. We also shared tactics for spotting bad bots inside the CMS, weighed up robots.txt being ignored, and asked whether LLMs.txt meaningfully moves the needle. European AI protections came up too, along with why they may not land here any time soon.
